What Mods are the best and can you use more than one at a time?
 Hello,
What are your favorite mods out there?

I saw one that looks interesting that adds increased moon systems and trinary star systems, can't remember the name at the moment.

Is there a limit to how many races there can be?

I believe you are talking about Fyron's Quadrant Mod which makes changes to a number of systems. Some Mods can be used in conjuction with each other, but some are too different to work together. |

The Mod I can't do without is the TDM Mod.
The TDM Mod increases the difficultness of the AI but mind you I conside that Mod just part of the game. All thanks to the guys who made it
I'm testing out the SJ's P&N Mod now, had just Had to sign up for the PBW P&N Game to go head-to-head with some of the notable names from this board. If only Imperator Fyron will accept my peace terms - Hint, Hint. |

 My favorite mod is Proportions.
20 is upper limit for number of races in the game. You can keep more in races directory, but only 20 can be added.

Re: What Mods are the best and can you use more than one at a time?
If you use the mod picker program that comes with the SE4 CD, you can pick and choose the mods you want to use.
You put each mod in it's own subdirectory. If the mod changes a file, the subdirectory will contain a new file. If the mod subdirectory doesn't contain a certain file, SE4 uses the file from the default directory.

Once you've got it setup like that, you can see two mods side by side. If they don't modify the same file, it's easy to put them together. Just copy files over.

If they do modify the same file. Now you have some work to do. The data files are all text. You can cut and paste, but you have to be careful. Better make a new directory just with your merged mod.

I have to admit I tried to merge Suicide Junkie's Pirates and Nomads with the Space Monsters. But I didn't have much luck |

Some of the more *brand * names:

PvK's Proportions
SJ's Pirates & Nomads
Devnull's Devnull mod (currently run by Rollo)
Mephisto and other's TDM Mod

Some Obscure Ones... Kinda... Maybe...:

Puke's Junkyard Mod
Val and Other's B5 Mod (NOT FOR GOLD YET)
Imperator Fyron's Quadrant Mod
Capnq's HyperSpace Mod (Doesn't really do much )
Deathstalker's Mount Mod

Proposed mods:

Andre Lescano's Sci-Fi Crossover
Captain Kwok's TNG Mod
Hadrian's MASSIVE Ultimate Mod 2
Lord Kodo's... something.

And many, many others.

People play the TDM Mod a lot out of those...
But try to learn lots of tricks before taking on TDM.

Sorry, but these Vorlons aren't push-overs. They have serious greivances against the Tien.Quote:

Trinary star systems are already in the game. FQM adds systems with 4 or 5 stars though. FQM (linked in my sig) will work with almost any mod. Check the readme.

I have combined TDM mod pack, Fyron's Quadrant Mod (generates some excellent systems) and my own Mount mod...into a single mod that I use.

Hypermaze. And HypermazeLite does even less.Quote:

I have written a utility that will convert the TDM AIs so that they will work with P&N.It will also work for any AIs that were designed for the unmodded game.

You can get my AI Patcher from the P&N downloads page.
