				 David (Avatar) G.
Hey I downloaded ArtGem and wanted to make a few planets or other images and I can't seem to figure out how.
Can you recommend any good tutorial sites or offer some helpful suggestions?

 BUMP
David I wanted to make some new events, and given what I have seen of your work this program, if it is the one you used, might do the trick.

 Thanks.

The best tutorial I know is to boot up Messenger and don't be afread to ask me a few questions. I usually have ArtGem booted up and it's cinch to send sample pics via Messenger while we chat.
I did post some tutorial pics in that 'Guest Speaker thread" But it would be simpler to just send you the pic than find the thread.
BTW, For Planets I Use PaintShop Pro 8 and the FlamingPear Plugins (Lunarcell, Glittereto, and Solarcell)

Anyway, just contact me and I'll do my best to help you along.

Cheers! |

Thanks David, I was just about to head off to bed.
How long did it take you to learn how to use Photo Shop 8?

I am seriously considering buying it and learning it. I want to learn it for many reason, and have used PS4 to some degree before, but have never taken it any where.

I did the marble tutorial once, but that was a long long time ago.

I figure that is how you did the planets.

WHat do you primarly use Art Gem for? Just doing avatars? It looks like a great tool, and given time I will figure it out. Once I have the basics down, I can learn from there.

I can get one black layer down, but I can not figure out how to draw something on the second layer. Or if open an image, and say I want to make a shot of a two ships coliding and make an explosion, I can't seem to do it.

I will chat with you when we have time, and I am more lucide than I am now.

 Thanks David.

I mainly use PSP8 for it's plugins and stuff. I do 95% of my work in ArtGem. It's what I'm using to make the UI stuff in SE5. It's really more of a Drawing tool than PSP8 is. It's all a mater of personal preference, but the whole 'layers' thing in PSP8 drives me a bit wonkers. When I show you the basics in ArtGem, you'll see what I mean.Quote:
