				 Astral corruption
Does anybody have any idea of the mechanics of how likely/how big a horror attack will be from AC? Obviously it's tied to the number of (non blood slave) gems you use casting/forging, but say how likely is a horror to attack a mage using two pearls to teleport?

				 Re: Astral corruption
I dont know any numbers but I actually played a good part of a game under Astral Corruption and it wasnt too bad. If you keep your spells on the weak side it *seemed* like you only got attacked occassionally.
But beyond this there is an easy workaround of just scripting Returning on your mages. So if they are casting a Ritual or just forging or something they are effectively impossible to kill by horror attack. Since I was playing an Astral heavy nation I was effectively unhindered by Astral Corruption.

The chance is very low with just 2 gems. I wouldn't worry about it at all. |

				 Re: Astral corruption
Yeah, I know, I've played under astral corruption, and I'm familiar with the standard workarounds. I just like to know numbers. I guess barring one of the devs digging into code though I'm out of luck on this one.

				 Re: Astral corruption
I *think* there is a comment in the manual that using 100 gems in a spell makes an attack certain. This might imply that it's a straight (number of gems used)% chance of an attack. What I'd like to know is how heavy the horror marking gets after casting a few spells. |
