Home Planet in a black hole system

Yup, I kid you not, one of the neutrals got their home planet in a black hole system. Is that weird, or what?
The savegame is attached, look at the Ibsunk system, in the top right corner of the galaxy map.

Also, if you look at the Pantrissa system, in the top left corner of the galaxy map, you will see another planet, originally the homeplanet of a neutral, that is all alone in what is otherwise an asteroid system.

Let me make it very clear; I am absolutely not complaining here, or saying that either of these phenomena are necessarily bad. I just found them unique and amusing, so I'm posting them here to share

this was common before 1.19, i thought it was fixed now.

if the computer runs out of places to put planets, it sticks them wherever. but now, the system types file includes a flag for wither or not players can start in a system type. asteroid, nebula, and BH should be prohibited now.

Friend of mine is playing v1.19 and is fighting a computer player whose home system is in a Nebulae (I thought it was pretty cool, although I didnt think it was possible).
Only problem he has is that he has done a grid search and says that he found no planets in the system at all. I told him to research Stellar Manipulation (lvl 5?) and destroy the Nebulae to see whether the planets become visible....
Was even thinking of modding the system file to create a Nebulae that does include some planets.
Must admit, the Black Hole system is pretty amusing.....

Instead of getting rid of the nebula, he should take over the AI player, research WarpPointGeneration and Boarding, and play as a galactic pirate race. Yo ho ho! (How long could one Last against the AI if it can't see your planet?)

		Possum,

Is this some kind of modified system.txt file? This quad has way more black holes, nebulae, and asteroid systems than it should.

Geo, nope, this is a dead-stock v119 game.
HOWEVER, the galaxy type is "Ancient". Perhaps you're not used to playing with those? They always look like that, it's a very tired old galaxy, with resources and real estate at a real premium. I enjoy the desperate small-scale games that result

Your right, I've never played an ancient quad. I knew they were sparse, but sheesh.

I'll have to give that a try sometime.

Yeah Geo, you should give it a try. Hey, for a real challenge, only use ancient quadrants for the contest. C'mon, you know you want to.

No offense, but I have this phobia about downloading thing. It seems that my anti-virus thinks that what I just tried to download was a virus, and it quarantened it.

Is it a virus? Na, I think it was a saved game. Odd. Very odd. :\

The downside of ancient galaxies is that the AI gets even weaker in them than in regular galaxies. You'll start seeing lots and lots of colony ships all by themselves wandering around trying to get to systems two and three times out of thier range. It's really sad.
