				 new cloaking idea problem.
I've created a new set of cloaking devices for my mod. One for each type of cloak. However, I noticed that another race entered one of my systems with a Level 8 EM Passive cloaking device activated, and I could see his ship. I didn't have any sensors in the system. His ship had the cloaked circle around it.
 Any Ideas?

All ships my default get IIRC one level EM active and one level EM Passive. If your cloak doesn't cover those you'll be seen even without sensors.

What are the abilities for that cloaking device? The device must have at least a level 2 in ALL FIVE types of cloaking ability, or it will be visible to ships without any sensors.

EDIT: Oh wait. Maybe Phoenix is right and it only needs active and passive. I thought by default ships had level 1 in all five, but what he says does make more sense.

IIRC ships only get level 1 EM Active by default...

How about Partnerships? Are you his Partner or Partner with a Partner of his. That would effectively void the cloak.

Just give every cloaking device that you want to be able to operate independantly of other cloaking components level 2 cloak in all cloak areas (at least). This will force you not to create level 1 scanners of any type, thus relieving any possible confusion. |

Did you have an ally present in the system who has the necessary sensor to see through the cloak? |

Cloak modding is sometimes very problamatic.
Hum, we all sound like cloak engineers here. LOL

Does the collective hive mind know what is the maximum level for cloaking and scanning that works?
