Hi guys. Is there a functional limit when bulding research facility's, what i mean is basically is there a difference between 10 research stations and say 20, i noticed if i build a higher amount of stations there does not seem to be much difference in research time, so is there an optimal?

You get points for each research facility. You then apply the points toward researching a specific tech. So all else being equal, if you had twenty instead of ten, you'd research stuff twice as fast...

Maybe he is building those labs in a system w/o a space port.... Do research facilities need a space port? I'm not sure...

I don't think you can ever have to much research until later in the game. Build, build, build
