Finally!
I finally bought SEIV (deluxe edition). A new player 
Can't wait to try some Babylon or Galactica mods....

Feel free to join Carrier Battles #3 on PlayByWeb
It has a fairly strong Babylon 5 leaning, with very important fighters, armor being the primary defense (it leaks damage sometimes), and lots of troop-vs-troop ground pounding action.
You will want to get used to things in a single player game first.

Note: This mod is quite challenging. And although there are fewer actual items to choose, all the options are viable in their own way. This makes for a much wider variety in gameplay than most other games.
The AI knows what it is doing, so watching it can be very enlightening. There is also lots to read in the text files and on the website, and you can always ask for tips and strategic advice here.

Thanks...
Actually i've been lurking for longer than that (since 2003, wasn't there another forum back then?). Anyway the game would have cost me about 100$ then and it was too much. Other games have kept my attention (MOO3, Knights of Honor...) but i've always kept an eye on SE IV, especially since i know that SEV is going to be a blast. So i couldn't resist when the deluxe edition was released last week...so here i am
