I have a question for any experienced map designers.

Do you ever use the shortcut keys to place terrain or build hills or do you always use the buttons ?

I've always used the buttons ( icons ) in the right menu for basic terrain selection.

Ohh I am hoping you want to free them up to add new terrain types or assign specific buildings to them or the additional hill levels. Use buttons for terrain laying

I always use shortcut keys, whether I'm playing SP or drawing maps, or writing reports, or using Windows. The more hotkeys the better.

That someone actually uses the shortcut keys is mainly what I needed to know.

When the next patch is released there will be some changes to the shortcut keys used in map editing.

While investigating terrain effects in the game I noticed some duplicate shortcuts and when I dug deeper I found the problem was newer code at the top of the list was negating these older ones further down the list. The hills shortcut keys are ones that will be changed as those were the ones that ran over a lot of other shortcuts so starting the next patch to place a level 1 hill you press 1 instead of 'H' and to place a level two hill you will press 2 instead of 'Y' ( and there are a few more that were duplicated that will be corrected plus the list will be expanded)

It will all be documented in the help file and I had to build a spreadsheet to keep track of them all and I'll include that as well.

I had a memory that some of the shortcut keys did not function. It's good to hear they are getting sorted out.
