				 Senario Creation
I realize this is a deadish topic. I've done a few searches and came up with a little on the subject.
I think I know the answer, but I am asking anyway.
Is there no way to insure something, an event, somewhat specific, happening on a given turn, or roughly within 10 or 20 turns?

I've only recently began to look over the tutorial files.

 Specific events? No.
You might through use of mod files be able to make some uber race ship with a super cloak that can't be detected and a star destroyer or whatever and give it a series of orders that will take 20 years to accomplish and end with the destruciton of a star or whatever you want done. Problems with that are numerous. Will the ships orders be cleared if it hits a minefield, or will the AI simply clear it's orders willy nilly and send it somewhere else of it's own accord? I don't know that. Never tried it really. Only theorized about it.

Try making a timed random event, such as the star-instbility one. Then keep replaying the turn until it happens to the object you want.

 | Oh,Oh,Oh -- is that how you did your homecoming scenario? Specifically, how do you make a timed random event? |

				 Re: Senario Creation
Actually, I was just playing my game, acting like a neutral race (stay in home system), when I got a message that my star was about to blow up.
At first I was disappointed that I was going to lose my empire, but then, I decided to break my citizens out of the homesystem and try to rebuild the empire elsewhere.

That seemed like a great idea for a scenario, so I saved the game, added a few pages of council meeting dialog, with an empire status report, and a few yearly reminders about the star.

Presto, changeo, the scenario was made!

 As for timed events:
 1) Make an event in Events.txt.
 2) Set "Time Till Completion" to a number greater than zero.

				 Re: Senario Creation
I think I've accomplished what I set out to do.
Pending approval, I'll post it manana.

It's an invasion senario. Four empires around a spiral galaxy. After no less than 50 turns a huge empire breaks out of it's center systems and wreaks havoc. The 50 turns are slightly moddable. I think it is possible to extend it another 30-50...not sure though.

The idea is 1-4 humans playing the four empires in an attempt to stop the Invaders. I've played far enough to make sure the Invaders break out, but I don't actually know if you can win this one. I made the Invaders an ultra-uber race with a huge headstart.

Most likely one of the human races will become the early target and take a beating while the others can develop.

 We'll see.

				 Re: Senario Creation
Just posted the Rage Invasion senario, inspired by that wonderfully horrific race, The Rage.
I tried to contact AK to get his approval for using the Rage, but the addy listed in the Read Me didn't work, sO I posted it anyway. If there's a prob, I can always pull it. I've changed some of the AI files, but not much...just so that they wouldn't make any treaties.

 Idea:
You and three others are located around a spiral galaxy. You start all allied in a partnership. However, your scientists have detected a previously unknown area of the galaxy, dead in its heart. Ten new systems.

You have 50 turns for you and your allies to prepare for total war against the Rage, a race so powerful, the four of you will have a hell of a time stopping them.

 Where will they show up?
 When?
 How will you stop them...

 Good luck.
