Attack rating question

When my guy wears a sword with +4 atk rating, it will say:

current attack rating: 12

attack nr 1 : 16


So does that mean only his first attack will have a 16 rating?

Yes, weapons attack bonus only applies to the hits made with that weapon.

First attack in an attack sequence. It's more clear if you look at someone with more weapons/attacks.
Give him 2 weapons and you'll see different numbers for nr 1 and nr 2.
Give him quickness and you won't see a difference, but he'll attack twice each round with each weapon at the listed attack value.
