				 OT: Trojans
Today I found four Trojans on my system, three unknowns, and one key stroke logger. How in the hell are these things getting onto my system? I have nortan, up to date, pest patrol, which detected them, and a firewall.

AT, something has to be wrong as you continue to get all these d... viruses. You may want to ad adware as well to your system, I use Norton, adware, Panda, even Stop Sign once in awhile. Is anyone else using your system when your not on it? Maybe someone else is and going to different sites or chat rooms etc and this is where they are coming from. I'd look into who else is using your systema and where they are going.... I use to get them as well, but cut down on going to a lot of sights or opening email from those I don't recognize. Hmmm. How about your email provider? Does it have a virus chekcer for in and out Messages? Maybe thats where the problem is... Good luck, wish I could help you out more, but I'm comp illiterate in the inner workings of these confounded machines..... If you have this protection how did you find them on your system????

I think, and I may be wrong, but with all the email trafic I get, that has to be source. I get on average about 30 to 40, give or take a few, viruses emailed to me daily.
This Trojan.CD-IT thing really cought me off gaurd. Evidently I have had it for a few days now. I swept my system on monday and it was clean, but here it is on Thursday.

Are there any other trusted machines inside the firewall?
 Are you using outlook?

And here's me expecting a thread about condoms.
Stop using IE, Outlook and/ or outlook express. THat's gonna tie up a lot of security loopholes right there.

But, to reiterate what everyone else has said, ditch the Microsoft "internet suite", they're all riddled with exploits that any 11-year-old kid could use. Run windowsupdate to patch your system, get virus definitions on a regular schedule, scan on a regular schedule. There's a bunch of security settings that you can change to make things better, but are for some dumb reason turned off by default (I can't think of any now off the top of my head, but any windows tweak sites, eg. annoyances.org, will have a bunch of them).
