				 Locking up in tactical combat 
 Hi.  Tactical combat is freezing (requiring a three-finger salute) with annoying regularity -- small fleet, large fleet, even during auto-resolved combat.  Not every time, but maybe once every 7-10 times.
 My system is a 1 GHz Athlon, Asus GeForce 2 w/32 MB RAM, 128 MB RAM.  I'm patched to 1.27. I'm running Windows ME (bleah).
 
 I did a search of the group but didn't turn up anything similar -- but I can't be the only one, surely.  It seems to have only started happening after the Last patch.
 
 Help/advice would be appreciated.

 Cloaked ship problems?  
 If you're continuing a 1.19 game under the 1.27 patch, it may be something got rearranged in one of the data files, and now somebody has "impossible" ships (e.g., an early patch increased the size of repair bays, so I ended up with a destroyer that had three repair bays on it, making it 300-400kT overweight; I had to start a new game, because of that and a variety of other problems).

 I've been having a crash out error occur at the END of tactical combats but so far, only ones involving Fighters. I have to play a bit more and nail down the specifics, but it does seems to happen kind of randomly. So far, no problems like you mention when there havent been any fighters present.
 Lets keep on top of this..
 
 Anyone else?

 I have found that SE4 will freeze up and die right after tactical combat ends, if it loses access to its files during tactical.
 It comes up with mysterious blank error Messages, then continues tactical, but is totally locked when combat ends.
 
 Basically this was caused by the server being rebooted while combat was in progress.
