Re: Look out! a girlie in our midst (Anette is listed as recent visitor!)
We used to have a poll about how many female members we have.
It is here: http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin...3;t=007635;p=7
The Last results were:

	Quote:

		| I'm male, no hesitance here, 100 % testosterone. 97% (69) I'm female but never plays PBW. 0% (0)
 I'm female and plays/has played PBW. 1% (1)
I'm neither or I don't want to tell my gender (Assume I'm male). 1% (1)

"But if you didn't have more urgent things to do after supper, you could write a letter, loaf, gossip, discuss the myriad mental and moral shortcomings of sergeants and, dearest of all, talk about the female of the species (we became convinced that there were no such creatures, just mythology created by inflamed imaginations - one boy in our company claimed to have seen a girl over at regimental headquarters; he was unambiguously judged a liar and a braggart)."

Re: Look out! a girlie in our midst (Anette is listed as recent visitor!)
some gaming news places have had Posts, mostly from women, dealing with this, basically, the problem is 14-year old libidoes(uh, if i spelt it wrong, i mean sexual drive) regardless of the actual age. or in other words, more of them might reveal themselves if they didn't get slobbered over. or, put more plainly, they play games to play games, not to find dates, most of them. although most of the complaints listed were from a relativly few trouble-makers.

There! Could a woman do that? I think not!

My apologies, Katchoo. Like I said, the only other name I've seen belongs to a character in the Strangers in Paradise comics. Good comic book; it's the closest to a soap opera I've read.

Wardad and General Woundwort, I am surprised at you. There is no reason why I could not be a girl, and actually, I think I should defend my right to be a girl if I want.

Re: Look out! a girlie in our midst (Anette is listed as recent visitor!)
Yeah, SiP was really very good to start with, but after a while the author tried to retrofit loads of plot into a character driven comic and it started to get really silly. Suddenly everyone has known one another for ten years longer than they thought they had, and is a member of some elite underworld organisation or something stupid... Didn't enjoy it after that. I've seen the same thing happen with innumerable webcomics. They start off as really enjoyable little comic strips, drifting along merrily with a few gags and some slow-but-steady character building, then suddenly the author gets a frenzied urge to reverse-engineer some huge epic backstory and complex plot and the whole thing goes to hell. GPF springs to mind. Exploitation Now was another prime example and (to a certain extent) Kevin and Kell, although I have more serious criticisms about that strip which I really can't be bothered with here.
1/0 did it and actually made the transition from frivolous to serious very well, but then it never tried to introduce backstory- it just (very self-consciously) introduced a bit of plot and meaning.

Incedentally, my brother and his wife have a (female) rabbit named Katchoo.

*dogscoff finally stops talking, then happens to look over at GT, who is sporting a sequin-covered red evening gown, size twelve 5-inch heels, full make up (including a thick layer of foundation over his unshaven face), huge false eyelashes and a feather boa. dogscoff runs from the room, screaming and gibbering and waving his arms in the air, his fragile mind warped forever. Well, until he can find a bar anyway.

Dogscoff, please credit me with better taste than that. I am wearing a particularily well tailored blue trouser suit, with fine white pinstripes, a white blouse, and a rather nice pair of Russell and Bromley's finest court shoes.
Only the sort of girls you probably hang around wear lycra mini-skirts, leopard skin pattern tight tops and fishnets.
