Thanks David,
Hmm, No. thanks. I'm not sure how I percieve myself.
The "grey" in my name is not that of my hair color or the way i feel. it is a reflection of how I view life. There are very few areas I see as "black and white" 'right or wrong". There is always some grey area in between.

 An amorpheus cloud maybe?
Or maybe a color-fill from one corner to the other, from silver to black so that most of the square would be shades of gray?
I used something like that for "Unicus the God of Mediation" (Shadowdale MUD). His robes were white at one foot and black at the other and gradually climbed in a blend to a silvery-grey at the neck.

I gave the avatar more thought based on your insightfull comments and came up with this...

A man of deep thought, fully aware that mankind was not easily defined by right and wrong, black and white, or truth and lies. A man who saw mankind as a constantly shifting fog with moments of clarity and blinding darkness...

My guess is this is closer, but you might be looking for something more abstract like what Gandalf has suggested.

Anyway, I do enjoy making these.

Cheers!

Dude! That's a pic of Plato, not you. (It's an avatar, not a self portrait, but if you want one of you, just send me a link to your pic.)

I'll see what I can do with a Mobius Strip...

Cheers!
Edit: Back with a couple versions of a Mobius Strip..

So? Good? Bad? Ugly? (Carefull with your choice )

		ive GOT IT!!!

Since 'Grey' refers to philosophy and not the shade of your scruff, I have the perfect rename for The Gryphin Position:

In quantum mechanics, there is a state of quantum bits that is between ON and OFF. this is a quantum superstate, where the object is in all possible states at once, until it is observed.

This is the perfect moniker for something that is neither black or white, neither on nor off, but is simultaniouly all things.

Thus, the SUPERPOSITION is all positions existing simultaniously and at one time, and is completely undefineable unless you observe it.

but even observing this position has been known to be hazardous to fragile circulatory systems.

Interesting reason for a name choice, Grey_One. I gotta say it was well-thought-out and seems to fit.

As to my collection of trains, I wouldn't call them cute (LOL). It's all steam-era with a bit of concentration in KPEV (Prussian Railway) and Deutsche Reichsbahn to try to piece together something believable circa 1940 (give or take). I could unbox and get some picks for an interested buyer. One or two of the locs I bought were limited editions, as I recall.

'Will the Kat accept Plato in the Bar and Grill?' This statement surprises me young man, it implies you seek his aproval for something that needs no aproval. Indeed, if the Kat were to try and excercise a "No Phillosophors Allowed" I'd be forced to unsheath my pen and write volums of Philosophy on the Bar's walls. (especially on the stalls in the washrooms) There would be a spectacular battle as philosophers from all around the world joined in the heated discussion of,.. oops, sorry, my Master's degree in Philosophy is peeking out again..

Man, you could go to town with a Plato avatar, you could tease the Kat to no end refering to him as 'simpleton', and disect his every post until it becomes meaningless. You could pick a phrase in any of his posts and reveal it's true meaning,..

To Paraphrase Plato,.. "You can subject every post to the full force of critical thinking, until nothing certain remains.

I can see it now,.. "The Brain Wars".. lol

Cheers!

Sounds like a plan! Of course, I will insist on being allowed to quote Plato, Socrates and other philosophers in their own tongue (Ancient Greek in this case), to make the whole thing even more interesting. It *is* war after all, so all weapons are game.

Oh, and I cast my ballot for the superposition thing; it's definitively fitting. And yet another reason to give a full 4 stars for Puke!
