				 The path to transcendance
Hi, our paranoia game has started. I thought I would try to write a RP-piece every week or two. Here's the first one. For obvious reasons, I must remain vague about locations and people. Just because I think they are reading this does not mean they aren't, after all.
 ---
From the Chronicles of the History-Maker

Entry 2400.0 – The search begins

Matter. Frozen energy. The stuff of legend. There was no place for matter in the universe as we knew it. It only existed in the thought-scapes of our most far-ranging thought-makers. Now we know we were wrong. Jar’lon and these other thought-makers must have traveled through dimensions far indeed to have brushed against the existence of matter. Unfortunately, not knowing, we traveled even further and have now become trapped in this pocket dimension of matter.

When we arrived, we found ourselves on this large sphere (define: planet)composed of varying types of matter. It was long before we perceived the emanations of an even larger matter-energy converter sphere [b](define: star)[\b]nearby around which this planet traveled. It was at this time that we came out of our reverie and turned our perceptions outward in hopes of finding that which holds us prisoner. Since this time, we have detected hundreds of such systems of stars and planets.

We have also gained a better understanding of our situation. In becoming trapped in this dimension of matter, our selves have taken on some of the characteristics of matter itself. No longer are we beings of pure energy. No longer are we part of the energy-scape. Just as our race is locked inside this dimension, our selves are locked inside fragile shells of physical substance. In the beginning, some of our numbers destroyed their physical shells in an attempt to escape. We do not know what happened to them. Their energy just dissipated. Since then we have mapped the limitations of our shells. Our thought-makers have learned ways to manipulate the matter that surrounds us. They have found ways to convert it back to energy to sustain us. They have found ways to shape matter so that it serves our shells.

We now know that we must build matter vehicles that can transport our shells off of this planet if we wish to ever return to the energy-scape. Even now, matter-shapers are building the first of such vessels. The thought-makers have predicted that in order to properly investigate this dimension, we will need to place outPosts on some of the other planets we have detected in order to increase the speed at which our matter-shapers can work. So, as our vessels are built, some will have missions of colonization while others have missions of exploration.

It is not known how long we have been here, but our thought-makers theorize that this planet we now call home has made at least 2400 revolutions around the local star. It is our hope that it will not take another 2400 revolutions before we find a path out of this matter-energy sinkhole and return to the energy-scape where we belong.

Hey Bman, nice, but where is the "path" to your "transcendant" ship set?
It's "so transcendant" that it's not found so SE4 is loading a random set each turn, and I don't see it specified on PBW.

Oh... I see on the thread in the PBW forum now... Ghizrea from the Gold CD, ok.

I've since uploaded it to PBW, but do not know how to add the link below my empire in the game info screen...

Bman, the way you emphasize knowing reminds me of Dakkon, the githzerai from Planescape: Torment. Coincidence? Do you even know what I'm talking about?

That can't be changed after the game has started; you have to specify it when you upload your .emp file to PBW.

All you can do at this point is tell the other players what shipset to download and install.
