A moment of epiphany occured today ...
... for me when I suddenly realized what makes this game so popular.
It's accessible to modifications so easily that it is a joy to work with. MM -- I forgive the manual -- that's something I can fix myself.

It was the devil's own for me to make an editor for MOO 2 (Space Dock) and I never quite finished it to my satisfaction (though it worked well enough) before the polish had gone off the game and the fan sites went down.

I could access the code without problem but editing the graphics (ships) was never completed.

But SEIV is probably unique in that it was designed to be tweaked.

What fun! [ July 14, 2002, 03:11: Message edited by: Elowan ]

I still play MOOII from time to time and always wanted some sort of editor. I would like to try your editor? Is it available for download or could you send it to me at:capt-kwok@rogers.com
Thanks. |

I'll scrounge it up for you. There are/were any number of editors available for MOO II; one very good one for planetary systems. Another to edit races; another for money. I was attempting to combine all features (except for planet/system editing.)Quote:

Mine is especially good at assigning Mercenaries and refiiting ships.

 Thanks!
I never owned the game at it's peak, so I never really saw the community in full swing.

I'd also be interested in your MOO2 editor. |

 Aha! I smoked out the MOO-mies! Here's my e-mail addr:labores@azboss.net
If you're interested in the MOO 2 editor - Space Dock - send me an e-mail with "MOO2 Editor" as the subject.

I have one request: if you use it - let me know where it's failing so that I can do the repairs. I haven't looked at it in awhile and my coding is a little rusty. But getting back to it will do me good.

Thanks for your interest.
