New PBW game: Networks II -- Entanglements
Networks one was so popular, filling up in only 4 days, I thought I would start another. Get in early!
 Changes from Networks I

12 human players but no AIs
Map made from FQM Mod Standard (you do not need to install this mod on your computer)
 No tech trading
Host will only administer and not play (I know the map too well!)

 Description:

Not all is connected. Some can warp to others, but not all. Some of your neighbors you will meet, of the others you know nothing...

 Here is the premise:

25% of the systems are unconnected.
The remainder are connected in three equal groupings. These "Networks" are not connected to each other. You will need stellar manipulation to get to the other networks as well as the unconnected systems.

Four players will start in each network.

This map has better connections than Networks I which was rather linear. You will be able to explore your entire network in fairly short order. In other words, its entangled; the finished map makes my eyes water.

I want everyone to have a different ship set so when you upload your empire be sure to indicate which ship set you are using even if its a stock set. If you forget, you will have to put it in the forum... and write on the blackboard 1000 times, "I am a slack-jawed idiot." Also, make sure your empire is 1.84 compatible.

 Starting resources: 100000
 Starting planets: 1
 Home planet value: Good
 Score display: Own
 Technology level: Low
 Technology cost: Medium
 Racial points: 3000
 Quadrant type: Midlife (FQM standard)
Quadrant size: Medium (out of 255 possible-- approx. 150)
 Event frequency: Low
 Event severity: High
Victory conditions: Last empire or alliance standing
 Maximum units: 20000
 Maximum ships: 20000
 Computer players: None
 Computer difficulty: High
 Computer player bonus: High
 Neutral empires: None
 Other game settings:
 No pre-arranged alliances-- penalty: kicked
 No ancient race-- penalty: finished
Miss three consecutive turns without notice-- kicked
 Tech tree viewable
E-mail diplomacy. After in-game meeting, only.
 No tech trading

Re: New PBW game: Networks II -- Entanglements
This certainly sounds like a good game, but I am already in 17 games and don't feel I could stretch myself any thinner. Perhaps you will start a third after awhile and I can join that one.

SEVENTEEN GAMES!!! Gandalf, you gotta get a life!
The first two Networks games seem popular enough. Likely I will do more, each with a new twist, but the same network theme.

Re: New PBW game: Networks II -- Entanglements
17 isn't much. Well for at least one person. Fyron was in over 20 games at one point. He still may be in 20 some odd games. All I know is that it's alot!

Two thirds of the spots are now filled! Only 4 left. Procrastination will have you kicking yourself in the butt, which ain't easy (better get a second to do it for you).
