				 map editor questions
Is there a way to give a player multiple specific starting planets?
If a starting location is placed over a sector with both a planet and a moon, which is selected to be the starting planet?

I'm new to the forums and apologize if these questions have already been answered elsewhere. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

				 Re: map editor questions
 Welcome to the forums.
I just did some testing with Gold and I couldn't select multiple planet starts for the same player either.
It ignored any extra start planets and just built new planets in the same home system as the first assigned planet - strange...
I thought Gold would have looked at this issue.

One PBW Game I hosted (Pre-Gold), I used this to my advantage. You assign a Huge World as the Starting planet, and then in the game setup, select 3 Home Planets with 'Average' value. In effect this gives you the Huge World you assigned and 2 Medium Home Worlds, all in the same system.

Starting planets seems to take the largest planet in any given sector for the Home World, so it shouldn't assign a moon as the Home World. |

				 Re: map editor questions
Hi. It would be determined by the game settings.
As the game would adjust the planet to fit the settings.

Or this is what I believe from my map making...

				 Re: map editor questions
Anyway, narf(French, right?), to answer your questions:
How am I?
Actually, I'm not sure. I'm more of a geek who spends WAY too much oh Star Trek.

What do I think of the forums?
I've been reading occasionally for a while and just decided to join a few days ago. I'm surprised about devoted people are to this game. Atrocitie's Star Trek Mod looks fantastic. I've just read about Captain Kwok's great loss of his TNG Mod data and am deeply saddened by it. I really hope that he will be able to recover his data. now I'm considering starting my abandoned Star Trek mod again.

Do I want some toast?
Uh, ok...
What do I think of SEIV?
It's a very good game!! I've been playing it for a long time and have had much fun with it!!! I'm really looking forward to all the mods out there.

no, it's pinky and the brain.
well, each time someone asks a question here, it generally gets more answers than i think some questions need, so i was thinking 'why not something different?'

you havn't seen red dwarf? that's horrible. it's a tv series, sci-fi comedy, see it the first chance you get. on it, for some of the episodes, is an intelligetn toaster with only one thing on it's mind, come rain, sleet, hail, asteriod storm, desperate space battle, medical emergency, space time distortion or anything..."do you want some toast?" "i can do bagels." "how about a biscut?"

Yeah, there is that option. If the game is set to "All player's planets the same size", then your carefully designed selections may be overridden.Quote:

You can't be sure of exactly what would happen, but the game would change that sector as it needs to.Quote:

If selected for the Eee, which are a Carbon Dioxide gas race, you'd just change the atmosphere of the gas giant and go, but the game isn't that smart, and will again change a random planet. Or erase the entire sector and just put the planet it needs.
