				 Re: Planetary Cloaking Device
Cloaking planets actually works? That's great!
So if an enemy ship is in the same sector as your planet and the ship doesn't have the sensors to see the planet, will the planet be blockaded? If not, then can you unblockade a planet by cloaking it? |

				 Re: Planetary Cloaking Device

If a planet recognises the cloaking ability, it must be possible to cloak a planet. And it was apparently supposed to be working before. Try setting up a planet with a cloak facility and using the hot key for cloaking on/off in a 1.84 game. It might work.Quote:

				 Re: Planetary Cloaking Device
"well, sir, we should be on the planet."
 "you sure?"

"well, this is where the charts say it is. plus, we've got gravity."

"this ships got artificial gravity that you can't turn off."

"well, i'm pretty sure we're sitting on something."

 "well, then, you go first."

 "rank before bueaty. i insist."

and there we leave our hapless insubordinate and noncomander, no doubt to stay in their current location for quite a while.

According to the first post in this thread they do. You just have to save and reload the game to get it to display the cloak icon. Are you saying you have tested this and Darkangel is incorrect?Quote:

No they do not. They appear to be cloaked, but if you actually test it out, they are still visible. This is with a cloaking facility, not using the sector-sight obscuration ability on a base/ship. Combat Wombat tested this, and Darkangel is incorrect.

   | And this is with a planet with cloaking abilities on a facility? You have tested it with a second human player to verify that it is really invisible?

 | Indeed. A facility with the settings from this very thread will activate the cloak button and it will hide the planet from view to another human player. I tested it before my Last post actually to be sure. Oh, and the name of the planet is also hidden (so you don't have an empty sector with "Centauri Prime" directly under it ). An enemy ship in the same sector as the cloaked planet will, without sensors, not engage in combat either. Remember, this is with the latest beta.

Yay! It certainly doesn't work like that in the latest non-Beta. |

				 Re: Planetary Cloaking Device
the latest bet of what is there a Version 1.85 out there that i dont know about???
im confused and scared and in a dark place...did someone cloak my planet?

which brings to mind what if your walking on the planet... is it an atmosphere level cloak so that anyone inside the atmosphere is still visible and if so wouldnt a close flight reveal the truth?
