				 3d Modeling?
 http://www.unwrap3d.com/index.html
Found this site while trolling around the net today...it looked interesting. I'm not a modeler by any means, so check it out and tell me what you think.

 Exports / imports Microsoft DirectX (*.X) I think it's the right format, isn't it ? |

				 Re: 3d Modeling?
That is essentially an updated Version of lithunwrap, which you can get for free. Its not a modeler, just a texturer.
If you want free modeler, you want something like Wings ( http://www.wings3d.com/ ) or Blender.

				 Re: 3d Modeling?
What diferences do you make between a modeler and a texturer ?
This wings software seems very interesting too, but it doesn't export in .x format...

				 Re: 3d Modeling?
A modeler makes 3D objects; a texturer applies textures to them. A modeler sometimes includes the functionality of a texturer as well.
BTW, Wings may not export .X, but it DOES export .3ds, which is easily convertible to .X - that is if you don't mind downloading the entire 200MB DirectX SDK to get at the one tiny program you need...

				 Re: 3d Modeling?
Wings can easily be converted to .x even without the SDK. Use Lithunwrap- its much smaller. http://files.seriouszone.com/download.php?fileid=198
