				 OT: Some assistance please :)
Ok, can anyone tell me what I need to type into "run" (in the start menu) to get to where I can forcefully prevent certain programs from running on startup? I knew it at one time, but just can't remember it right now....
I hope I explained what I mean correctly, and didn't just succeed in confusing everybody

"msconfig" works on XP and probably other Versions of windohs. From there, you can select what gets run on startup.
 Slick.

 | It works fine on win2k. It is just not available by default. You can download it from the web and it will work perfectly. |

For those who care: In Windows 98/98Se/ME type in the Run path "system information" to get to the ginormous "Help and Support" area > Click the Tools drop-down menu and click "System Configuration Utility". This gives you the set of tabs that was MSConfig in Win95.
So far in ME this is the only way I know to get there. (Well, it's under Start/Program Files/Accessories/System Tools also...)

In Win 98/ME the system information utility (MSINFO32.EXE) has menu link (under tools) to a system config utility. One panel in this lets you choose which programs run on startup. |
