Trouble running the Babylon 5 mod
I sent a e-mail to the people who made the B5 mod, but their e-mail address is no longer around and I assume they are no longer working on the mod, which is pretty disappointing. Their offical site didn't even have the latest Version, this one however did.
Here is the e-mail though that I sent them, hopefully one of you guys can help me out here, because I am completely stuck and out of idea's.

		| I am running Space Empires IV Gold Edition Version 1.91

I downloaded the Babylon 5 Mod Version 1.49.33 from www.spaceempires.com

I can't get the mod to work however. I use the Space Empires mod launcher Version 2.26 to launch the B5 mod and I get error Messages at start up.

 here are the error Messages

Could not find field "asteroids value low percent" in record 1
Could not find field "asteroids value high percent" in record 1
Could not find field "asteroids value low resources" in record 1
Could not find field "asteroids value high resources" in record 1
Could not find field "drone supply usage per turn" in record 1
could not find field "drones can be hit by mines" in record 1
could not find field "population mass' in record 1
could not find field "reproduction check frequency" in record 1
could find field "minimum computer player low setting" in record 1
could not find field "maximum computer player low setting" in record 1
could not find field "maximum computer player low setting" in record 1
could not find field "minimum computer player medium setting" in record 1
could not find field "maximum computer player medium setting" in record 1
Could not find field "minimum neutral player low setting" in record 1
Could not find field "maximum neutral player low setting" in record 1

That isnt the complete error log, the list goes on, but you get the idea.

After that the game loads and I see the Babylon 5 start up screen, but the only thing I can do from the main menu is view the credits and quit the game. I can't start a new game, load save files, etc...

I placed the Babylon 5 mod into its own directory, none of the main SEIV files were over written.

The other mods I have are the image mod, and Fyrons Quadrant mod deluxe installed.

I've tried running the B5 mod without any other mods and that just gave me the same results.

So... what should I try? Any help would be great appreciated, thank you.

Re: Trouble running the Babylon 5 mod
i think your the answer is in the MOD number 1.49.33.you said your running 1.91 which is gold Version, 1.49 is the Last patch to SEIV pior to the gold Version.

so i'm guessing you need SEIV 1.49 for that mod

Re: Trouble running the Babylon 5 mod
 www.spaceempires.com ????
probably you meant www.spaceempires.NET ?

anyway, this Version of bab5 mod is _not_ compatible with se4 gold. you should have been noticed that it's located in the se4 classic mods section.

edit: SE IV Gold (latest Version is 1.91) is an expansion of SE IV Classic (latest Version 1.49), and mods for Classic are not compatible with Gold, since a lot of new stuff were added to the Gold Version (mainly to data files but also to the game mechanics). |

Re: Trouble running the Babylon 5 mod
I didnt notice that at all, because I did a search rather then look in the individual sections. Ok sorry about that. Is there a gold Version of this mod?
Thank you very much though for your help. A lot of wasted time trying to fix this problem when all I had to do was do some more looking. Simple mistake on my part that I over looked and it ended up costing me a few wasted hours. |

Re: Trouble running the Babylon 5 mod
I guess I could try to find the normal Version of SEIV and just end up having both Versions of the game. I heard there was a way I could convert the B5 mod to work on the gold Version? I'm doing some searching around though and haven't found anything yet on how to do that. |

Not your fault actually (and sorry my roughness). I think it worths to add explicit description about incompatibility to classic mod download section.
Currently, B5 mod is under development (as always). There's not major stable release yet, but you can ask about working Version in the B5 mod thread. |

Re: Trouble running the Babylon 5 mod
There is a Gold 1.91 compatible Version of the mod (1.8) on the mod's website:http://www.xmission.com/~rstulce/B5Web.htm
Note that the description of the mod you downloaded from spaceempires.net lists the Compatibility as SE4 1.49. This means that the latest Version of SE4 that the mod will work with is 1.49. |
