				 Any good PBW games??
Ok so I going to try playing a pbw game now that I have space empires and the internet on teh same computer. Are there any new games or games that I could get into that would be good for someone new to this to try? I have never played against human players before so this should be interesting... |

Well, I suppose the Carrier Battles game is out of the question then
I suggest browsing through the open games, and joining a couple as a replacement player.
No pressure, and you start with a pre-built empire.

A good way to get your feet wet.

I find it easier to build my own empire - I know what I'm doing, and I know where things are.

PBW games are awsome, my only advise is to keep the number of players in the game low, no more than six or seven... many will drop out as the game goes on.
Oh ya, AVOID using intel in the game.... bad idea.

So the game uses jsut the vanilla game right? It didn't mention any mods in the description. |

 | I agree you need to balance the number of players. Too many and it takes ages between turns even though you can afford a few dropping out, too few and you feel each player that drops out. I am in a game that started with 7. 1 has already dropped out. I'm a bit worried that if any more drop out theres no much chance for interacting with multiple empires, and also players might get fed up if there are only a few left. It might not be worth going on. |
