Exactly my thought... Forums with this shown tend to have a great deal of fluff but little meat. Why, we even have threads dedicated to running up your post count. Sheesh.

And while this may seem inherently bad, it is vital to the survival of an online forum. Forums feed on teh post count numbers and so therefore, the more post counts the healthier and stronger the forum. Post padding threads are really started by the forum in an effort to sustain itself. |
