Experiance Points?

Anyone know what use the Experiance points are for? There already is a scoring system. I could see if there was a way to set the beginning XP for each player to be spent as they wanted when the game was being set up, but there isn't any settings for this. Anyone?

as far as i know the exp of a race has no bearing on the game but i don't know to much

I recall this issue being discussed a while ago. The conclusion was that racial experience points have no effect what-so-ever on the game.

Hey Nick. Good to see you on the forums.

I think the only use of racial experience is to show other players you're using a race you had used before in your new game.

I can't be sure, but I seem to recall somewhere vaguely official sounding that the age of your race gives a minor bonus to your stats. Not sure how much or when, though.

yeah i think thats what was supposed to happen but no one ever really noticed a difference after accumulating large amounts of points.

yeah, that's kind of what I thought. Sort of wish they had a point to them, since they're in the game and all.

Nice to hear from you too, Andres. I saw the forum post about what's coming out in the next patch and wanted to say congrats to you for getting your work on non-english characters into the offical game.

As far as I can tell they are only for bragging rights about how long you've used a race. A friend of mine and I used to compete to see how many points we could accumulate with our prospective races. I do not believe that it has any effect on the game other than a rough estimate on the age of your empire.

when you create a new game and add an empire if you go to edit the empire in the empire setup screen at the bottom is the races experience points and their age ie newborn, infantile, etc
