				 neural net
Do you have to equip every ship with the shared experence component or just one per fleet? |

				 Re: neural net
I think perhaps only the XP receiving ship needs to have it, but I'm not sure.

				 Re: neural net
I currently don't use it 'cause I believe SJ is correct. Now if it could be modded / adapted to be for a 'command ship' or fleet leader and share XP across the fleet, well then it would be worthwhile - spacewise that is. The resource point cost is reasonable (400-0-50), it's just the space (30Kt) that is a drawback. IMO that's too much space per ship. If it was a fleet-wide ability and you mount it on a command ship (make it more expensive and even bigger if you like - 50Kt or so), then it would be a worthwhile component.
 IMO of course...

Sure you must have it in every non-experienced ship. It's "logical" as you must create a NET between your ships. Isn't the case but IMO the ship which gives(share) experience must also have a Neural Combat Net. I note that the experience is also shared with ships not in the same fleet.

IMHO it isn't too much space for a battleship or bigger hull.
An the advantages! If you have experienced ships not only you don't need to train ships, you can also have your very new ships with legendary experience as soon as they left the SY.
When I have NCN and I have legendary ships I retrofit them to a design with many defenses in order to keep them safe.

				 Re: neural net
Thanks for the info. I was thinking along the same lines of having a command ship component called CIC with the shared experience ability. But it would only be usefull on larger ships.( Cruiser and above ) |

				 Re: neural net
I've never used it before, but what if you fit out a ship with NCN, gain the experience, then retrofit it back to something else without a NCN?

				 Re: neural net
If you did that would the ship lose the experience since it didn't have it to start with? The NCN was allowing the experience because of it's ability, so if you remove it wouldn't it take away the bonuses it was giving said ship or does the ability give permenent experience? |

				 Re: neural net
AFAIK, the bonus applies *only in combat*.
So your ship doesn't reflect the neural net XP when you look at it, and removing the net just means it won't get that bonus in combat.

For the same reason, a neural net on a solo ship is a bit useless.
