 I remember that the Soviets had a similar idea. I have a book about Soviet Medium Tank 1989 (not the T-72 modification, another SMT 1989). Supposedly, the Russians were working on a magnetic field that surrounded the SMT 1989 (which never even reached prototype stage). Any metal object passing through the field closed the circuit, atracted electricity, and sent a lightning bolt flying toward the object. Pretty damn cool. This basic electric armor isn't all that new of an idea in the first place. |
