				 Neo-standard shipset usage?
I've also put this poll on SE.net but thought I'd put it here too.
There's been some discussion on making Dark Nova mod Neo-standard compliant. Something I've wanted to do for some time now anyway. I just want to get an idea of what sort of importance people are putting on Neo-Standard shipsets.

				 Re: Neo-standard shipset usage?
 It dosen't matter...
Just make your mod use the neostandard images that make sense, and have stock images as the alternate bitmaps.
That's the way it is supposed to work... neostandard shipsets look better, and basic shipsets still work.

				 Re: Neo-standard shipset usage?
Whether or not a mod is neo-standard compliant doesn't really matter to me either. I look at the quality of the mod and whether or not I find it enjoyable. If I find it enjoyable, well I'll play it whether or not it's neo-standard.

As SJ pointed out there's really no reason not to.

				 Re: Neo-standard shipset usage?
i'll play interesting mods if the mod is neo compliant that just adds to the attraction for me course if its not a concept i like to begin with
now havingthe neo compliant tag in the list will catch my eye faster so i'll read a mod description with that tag sooner than i would one without the tag as i know the auth put in extra work time and trouble and if im compatible with the concept then i want to reward that author wityh my participation and hopefully even praise

The expanded mod uses neo-standard ships and it kicks major ***.

				 Re: Neo-standard shipset usage?
I'd have to agree with that. A mod that's Neo compliant is more likely to attract my attention than one that's not. I have always enjoyed the larger number of ship options, and the Expanded Mod is a good example of their use. |

				 Re: Neo-standard shipset usage?
It's more backwards for me. The mods I play are neo-standard compliant, so I prefer neo-standard shipsets. Whether a mod is or not doesn't necessarily make me like the mod better, but in general it's a good feature. |
