I think that Arenas are magical in order to allow everyone to participate?
And you are right, the other is very funny

Yes, aquatics always were able to participate.
As for the other, LoL also - note that the Oracle has no body part, so I suppose that lose arm/tail/whatever afflictions are "cancelled" this way. |

I'd imagine that getting heavily veined tissue that's near my heart would have some effect.
