				 Damaging Warp Points
How do they work? (i.e. how is damage calculated)

				 Re: Damaging Warp Points
The damage done is a set amount, set in the stellarabilities.txt file. Each time you go through the WP, it hits. Ignores shields but maybe not armor.
It also seems to hit a random component, and if that component is strong enough to take the hit, the damage is totally disipated.

 They're like a non-sweepable permanent mine.

So is it possible to mod a component that would let you have the ability to create damaging warp points?
If so, is there a mod thats done it?

Armor works normally against damaging warp points.

Actually, it doesn't hit each time you go through the warp point. There is some random factor that determines whether your ship gets damaged by the warp point or not. Sometimes you can pass right through without anything happening.

				 Re: Damaging Warp Points
Also, IIRC with damaging warp points "size DOES matter". ISTR that escorts and destroyers will go thru certain(but not all) WP's without taking damage - even without armor. |
