Wishing for better original races AIs
I dont know about the rest of you, but i realy like the original races. I mean playing against them. But then comes the problem - their AI is too weak.

I do not visit this place too often and guess i might have missed it:
Is There A Better AI Files For The Original Races?
It might be fun to fight against Jraenar, Norak and Crystalline races and build alliances with Amonkrie and Abbidon knowing that their AIs are not as bad as their are.

It would be even better if those races had their own speech... but doubtfully.

Check the TDM Modpack. It has new Versions of some of the original races.

The most recent Version includes new files for the Norak, but not the others on your list.

Wait until Gold comes out, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by both the AI changes and the mods on the disk!

I'm fairly certain that the TDM modpack has some decent AI's for the Amon'Krie, Jraenar, and Norak... |

Re: Wishing for better original races AIs
I'll surely download the latest TDM soon, then.Is it compatible with normal game? I mean, the AI scripts work as fine in classic like in the mod?

I dont like mods too much... not untill i improve in the normal game.

Re: Wishing for better original races AIs
The word of caution about TDM pack. Due to one nasty SEIV bug (fixed in Gold), do not use "random empire generation". Load AI empires from .emp files. Yes, it removes the the uncertainity about who you will play against, but allows AI races to use all allocated race points.
Be very afraid of Rage Collective !!

Re: Wishing for better original races AIs
The modpack is 100% compatable with standard v1.49. That was the whole point of the mod; making competative races without altering the game mechanics any. They have done an excellent job. I never have beaten a couple of the AI's in it. |
