				 BattleTech Race Style ?
I was wondering if anyone has seen a Battletech Race Style.. ?
It seems to me that BattleTech has almost everything to create a new style :

 BattleMechs - Troops
 DropShips - Transport
 Aerospace Fighters - Fighters
 Starships - Ships
 LongTom - Weapon Platforms

 hehehe

I think someone started working on one a long time ago and quit. They have not been here in over a year. |

Actually IMO I thought that the Renegade Legion Universe would be nice especially since it primarily focus's on ships but Fasa did come out with a great tank Version of which the name escapes me atm and I am to lazy to go to my closet.
I was really saddened that Battletech got all the glory over Renegade L. I thought the RL universe to be far more compelling and realistic than a nuclear reactor in a battlemech that didnt vape a city when the mech went boom boom.

/sigh One of these days i really need to learn programing so i can learn to mod and ummmm put some board games i got to the comp.

I too liked the Renegade Legion universe FAR more than Battletech. I hated the hodgepodge of high-tech and really crappy tech in Battletech, and I can't suspend my disbelief for giant walking robots defeating tanks. RL also had a much larger sense of scale, which is cool too. The tank game was Centurion, BTW.

if you stop feeding a fusion reacter fuel, the reaction stops. of course, there's still superheating to deal with, but they could be using some Version of cold fusion. of course, if your fuel supply went up, that's still a lot of hydrogen... and theoretically, you could start your fusion reaction up again. i guess the appeal of battletech is bigger is better . what's renegade legion?

 Giant robots>j00
Giant robots>almost everything
It's a fact, Giant robots are the coolest thing ever, although tanks are good, big stomping robots own.
Now a tank that transforms into a giant robot is the coolest thing ever in the neverending universe. period |

Renegade Legion was the other major game universe created by FASA in the late 80's. It centered around the galaxy-spanning Terran Overlord Government (think Star Wars Galactic Empire with a Roman theme) and it's attempts to crush the Commonwealth (typical goody-goody multi-species democracy) and the Renegade Legions, TOG forces that had defected to the Commonwealth.Quote:

Maybe, but you know what's not included in the "almost everything"? RenLeg Grav Tanks. They're faster, heavier, carry more firepower, have a FAR longer range, and even have shields. The tech in RenLeg is way beyond that of BTech, partially due to being 3800 years farther in the future that BT.Quote:

Heck, even a Garrison Legion, which has ground, rather than grav, vehicles could probably stomp mechs.

The entire might of the Draconis Combine (according to the Field Manual: DC, if you add up the OOBs) is only about 9,000 mechs and 70,000 infantry. Not only is that pathetic compared to the modern world, but about 15 Garrison Legions could defeat such a force (that's about 8,600 tanks and IFVs and 41,000 bounce infantry), and Thapsus alone, TOG's occupational capital in Shannedam county, has 25 Garrison Legions. TOG's total military strength is somewhere around 8 million legions and 1 billion space warships, enough to give even 40k's Imperium of Man a run for it's money.

I scoff at the pathetic capabilities of Battletech.
