You can't predict storms, I'm afraid. You can make your own, though, if you have the right research and a powerful Air mage.
BTW: If you read through the manual you'll find a lot of material that will answer this and many other questions - even some questions you hadn't thought of asking yet |

To my knowledge, this is an effect that must be created through a spell.
Or in other words, storms never occur naturally in dominions. kind of weird...

Re: how to check for storms
There's a spell that causes a storm in battle, by the same name. There's also the mobile storm generator items "Staff of Storms" and the unique "Tempest" to enforce it. Other than that, weather conditions are random and quite rare to encounter. You may have rain or snow, if the weather is really odd, even a storm, maybe. It might even be that they aren't encountered randomly, too, though. |

No way that I know, not in advance. You can find rain and snow, and I don't even know if it's possible to find storms around. But you can make a Storm with an Air mage (the Storm spell), or forging a Staff of Storms to give to a commander. Remember also that storms don't allow the most of the flying troops to fly, and greatly reduce precision of archers and mages. |

Air magic combat spells. It's an A4 spell.
Seriously though, it's worth pushing your way through the manual for literally dozens of different reasons. It's the first, best thing you can do to improve your game.

There's also the Perpetual Storm global, which makes every battle have a storm. I've never seen it cast though.

Re: how to check for storms
 ok thx,
i read the manual but very quickly and when i see the spell description in the game it said something about the mage getting stronger in a storm so i thought that it was possible (like heat and cold) you could also have storms and nice weather.

 thx all

Re: how to check for storms
I recently attacked Abysia's capital province in MP and was pleasently surprised to have natural rain battlefield enchantment up. Neither myself or Abysia cast it. So it must be the result of natural weather conditions. Don't think I have seen a storm thou outside of someone casting the spell or bringing the staff of storms. |
