				 space yards
Is there any way to get more than one space yard on a ship, planet, and/or base?

which, if I'm not mistaken, is equivilent to roughly a 50 megaton nuclear bomb.

As a human player, only one shipyard is allowed. I have seen AI's build space yard ships with 2, so it can be modded, but again only for the AI.

This is a known bug, or at least was at one time (might have been fixed - not sure). If you set up the AI_DesignCreation file with a design for a space yard ship with a required ability of space yard and the major component being space yard, and there is enough room on the ship for two, the design will be made with two, one for required ability and one for major component.Quote:

I agree, AK. But you have to have the design minister on if you are playing as a human, and even then, if you try to update the design, with say better engines, the game will show an illegal design and not let you. And no, it has not been fixed.

Only through extreme cheating. Save game in progress, mod a component or facility that didn't previously have space yard ability to have it. Reload.Quote:

				 Re: space yards

Well more space yards = faster build time. Of course I could just mod the existing space yards to build faster, but I want super construction rates limited to the really big bases or planets dedicated to space yards. I guess I could just add a new space yard that is twice as big and builds twice as fast, and one that is thrice as big etc. But it wouldn't work for planets.Quote:

Baron, interesting idea. I imagine that it can be used to create some very interesting scenarios.

SJ did this in his P&N mod. I've never built a second spaceyard, though. (EXPENSIVE!!!) |
