Some 4 million years in the past, there existed a race called themselves "porleyter". They developed space travel and FTL-Flight to such an extend, that they left every other race in that time far behind. Slowly, in some 10.000 years their habit changed. Being a race of fierce warriors they changed to a race of reclusive researchers tending only to their affairs. Their empire dwindled away when other races came to fill the void. then the porleyter race took the next step of evolution, they abandoned their bodies and became one, a being of true energy composed out of billions of life essences, a super-intelligence. AS they could still rely on the technology they developed, the
super-intelligence decided to be the mentor and protector of any future intellingent race in this galaxy cluster.Millions of years passed and young races started to explore space. "ES" as the intelligence calls himself took step and influenced calmy and hidden the efforts of the races it swore to protect.Then Chaos struck:
Out of another dimension an enemy emerged, devouring everything in its path. Uncounted lifes perished. ES was not able to stop the juggernaut and made a desperate decision: the seven most developed cultures were chosen to survive the massacre.ES transported a large number of beings from each of those seven races to a galaxy far away. Each of them was given a ringworld around a sun to be the Last stand a new hope of that race.
But, by some reason known only to ES, it left these colonists with little to start, ensuring that only the strongest and boldest could make a new life in the galaxy known as Estartu.
What was known of their heritage got forgotten, turned to myth and then to legend. ES observed those seven races well and placed a story of legendary treasures awaiting all those who would be able to cross the barrier around the only warppoint in the homesystems. And ES went even a step further. It implanted genetically the wish to explore the spaces behind the shrouded warppoint. So every one of the seven races had the unexplainable desire to take a look on to that system where those treasures are said to wait....................................

But the seven races are not the only ones in this galaxy. What awaits our protagonists? Will there be treasures to be uncovered? What enemies will there be? Is there hope for a new beginning?

(Each human player will start with a ringworld! gasp)
