you can put sats anywhere you like as long as you have the tech to transport and launch them. You can even cloak them and use as spy sats in other systems

Good for wormhole defense and planet defense, it just depends on what weapons, shields, etc you put on them. a lot of players use them for PD's , everyone has their own uses for them. enjoy the game and welcome to the best forum around
