Fun game! A question for the pros...

I usually play the hard-core FPS and RPG games, but I installed this one and it brings back a lot of memories about the old style gaming! What a treat!

I'm playing the demo, and I've searched every room in the castle. I found a crown, but it was the wrong one - an evil crown, or something. Also, I found a few silver and copper keys, but not enough to open about five or six doors. I found Billy, and other things, but no matter where I go I can't find any other silver keys, or the fire key. What am I missing? Is there another area I can't find, or should I go back to the city? I'm totally stuck.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...this is the only game I can play with my son, and I'd like to buy it. I hope this isn't a bug, or items disappear from my inventory.
