My scout watched it too, that little bugger died in the blink of an eye.
That should teach you not to use a Firbolg with a Charcoal Shield, Firebrand, Black Steel Helmet, Robe of Shadows, Boots of The Messenger, Pendant of Luck and Amulet of Resilience against a barbarian province

I really wonder how you excpeted him to survive
