Default Swiss Blue

Not a new cheese, an OOB!.

Blue OOB is used as a basis for this Swiss OOB since this produces batlocs more in line with Switzerland.

Most non-transport formations have the experience and morale boosted, since the blue OOB EXP/MOR is for a conscript army. Line Swiss tend to be in the high 60s experience now.

Tanks:
from 20 to 30 Renault FT were bought post WW1.
6 Vickers M1934 were bought about 1935.
24 Skodas were bought just before WW2, with no armament. the oerlikon 24mm was installed locally.
the various prototype tanks produced late in the war are available in the prototype tank section.

Tank companies were just 8 tanks. Battalion is 24, for the tanks that were in sufficient numbers (probably one Bn each of Skodas and Renaults). Vickers probably only should be bought in sections of 2.

Armoured cars
A few Skoda turtles appear to have been acquired pre-war
the Melli M1943 also appeared in small numbers.

The Skoda had 4 MGs one in each corner, I have given it 2 as that is about all that could bear on one target at the same time..

There were probably less than 30 armoured cars in the country, so a couple of sections of 2 is probably all you could get.

ATG:
The boeler 47mm was in service from the mid 30s.
The 24mm was introduced in the early war years. Light, but not very impressive. The same gun as in the Skoda light tanks.
A better 47mm came into service in 1941, but that's it for Swiss anti-armour guns!.
The 75mm AA gun is also available as a heavy ATG.

AAA
some decent Oerlikon 20mm, a triple later on.
the 34mm AAG let to the post-war 35mm

Planes:
Some French and German models, a few bought from Italy. (The DH5 spotter is not the same as the WW1 British DH5).

Infantry A/T
An anti-tank rifle grenade seems to have been issued. I have put it in service in 1941.
The 20mm AT rifle was the mainstay of swiss infantry-AT through the war though.

NB - The AI pick list has been modified to reduce tank count by swapping some formations about, and also by covering blue's tank formations that were not required with AI rifle companies to boost the infantry buy in the AI hands. This OOB can be used as the German or Italian opponent in Operation Tannenbaum in a small campaign game if desired.

This army is a WW1-type infantry army, with poor anti-tank capability and very few tanks of low utility. Artillery is adequate but not outstanding. Dig in in the mountains and make your enemy winkle you out would be about the only tactic for this one. Swiss militia system meant the army was almost a half a million riflemen, with perhaps half that again in territorial reserve forces.

As with all alternate OOBs
1) make a sub-folder to unzip this OOB into under the default OOBS folder
2) use the OOB swapper ("Manage OOB Sets" button on the Game Options launcher, as described in the Game Guide) to move it in or replace back with the default OOB 42 as required.

The OOB is supplied as-is, there will be no further maintenance by us.

Feel free to use it as a starter if you feel like developing it further yourself.

Cheers
Andy
