 then again I just want to own my own private spaceship... I have all the plans worked out in my head

 I suppose you could make a mod......  where you could "pilot" one of the ships during combat...  kinda like SimCopter?   Dunno... I do like the view from the starmaps and tatical combat screen (I like MOO2's control on the combat screen too - but the screen need to be bigger.... like SEIV. hmmm...).
 I think the key to this is optional...  there are people out there that do not have good eye-hand control, but that does not mean that couldn't be a good general...  (mind vs. brawn)....   Compare MOO2 to Homeworld...
