				 Re: Riot Control
welp, ya either wait quite a few turns with the troops/fleet doing riot control (is NOT instantaneous) or ya glass them and start over...

I have a few more ideas, but I'm thinking of breaking out the RAID next. So what is the obvious answer that I'm overlooking?

It takes time when a population has reached "maximum" anger. They were probably very close to rebellion. All you can do is leave the troops and ships there for a while as pathfinder says. |

				 Re: Riot Control
Or build an Urban Pac Center on another planet in the same system. (one bonus to Temporal races - the Temporal Vacation Service works pretty well for these situations...)

				 Re: Riot Control
Got a question - I'm playin Religious race and found that you can't build a (I think its) Nature Shrine (the one that makes the pop happier system wide) if you have a Urban Pacification center. Is this supposed to be this way or is it some kind of oversite?
I would think given Relgions somewhat limited bonuses that a cumulative effect would be best. Also, the documentation on the Shrine says some vague "pop will grow happier" w/o giving any specific amount so it puts the user to the guess work of figuring out which is more effective UPCs or Shrines... any help/info?

				 Re: Riot Control
It is Fate Shrine. The Nature Shrine improves planet conditions and value.Fate Shrine has the same effect on happiness as Urban Pacification Center but it gives you also less chance of bad events happening in the system and less chance of Intelligence attack in the system. So it is more useful that Urban Pacification Center. The effects are not cumulative (all system-wide effects are non-cumulative).

				 Re: Riot Control
The obvious answer is to abandon the planet, without scrapping any facilities. This gets rid of all population. (No, it doesn't make sense.) Now transfer all the pop in your transports back down to the planet. (You may need to wait one turn for the planet to forget that it was rioting; I'm not sure.) By the way, this is also a sure-fire, totally unrealistic, way to cure plague and to deal with wildfires.

				 Re: Riot Control
I had 40 troop units. I waited 3 turns after I pretty much cleared the planet and now the little bugs are angry. I suspect the total number of troops had very little to do with the riot control. I can't recall how long I had the troops there to begin with. I can now build the Pacification Center. Thank you everyone. |
