				 Couple of questions.
1: What is the difference between the Aggressive, Neutral, Defensive, Default, and Race Specific AI files? (i.e. does anyone know when which are used)?
2: Has anyone experienced a fleet bug in which the fleet grouping (usually with no orders) breaks up (disbands)?

1> lost me (easy to do)
2> I know someone is going to say it, so I might as well go first. If your talking about using the "shift-click" to select a group of ships, that is not a fleet, and they do not stay selected (IE like a lock stack command. not used in SEIV).
Only other time I have seen a fleet name disappear, is when I remove all the ships out of that fleet. This does wipe out any fleet experience associated with that old fleet name.

couslee He is reffering to those folders. I think they come with the TDM mod Pack. I always wondered, never thought to ask.

				 Re: Couple of questions.
Ok, those folders are used when you create a empire file. Go to new player and on the first menu that opens up with is your empire details screen. (Shipset, name, etc.) There is a drop down menu that says, "Minister Style" You can choose, "Agressive", "Defensive", and "Neutral", what these do are should you use ministers in your game, (highly advise against it) this is how the minister will be. If you choose the minister style to be aggressive then the minister in the game will be aggressive.
Default is just what the ministers use if you do not select a minister style.
I hope that answers your question. [ January 31, 2003, 22:53: Message edited by: Ragnarok ]

In addition to what Rags said:
If a race folder is missing any AI files, the game uses the files from the AI folder that that race is set to use (aggressive, defensive, or neutral in the standard game). If there are any files missing in that AI folder, the game uses the files in the root AI folder.

				 Re: Couple of questions.

Each AI has a set of files that determines what it will research, whot to use in its ships, and, how it behaves vs other races. Each race is different. Everyone uses the race specific ai files, expecially if the race is modded, for example TDM Modpack races are carefully written.Quote:

If you turn on ministers for your race they will use the info in the files for their decision.

Practically no one screws with this by selecting other AI behavior. If two races use the same AI setting, they behave exactly the same. Who wants that?
