Yes. I picked Ancient type and find a LOT of black holes and systems with just warp points. Takes quite a while to get anywhere in early part of the game.

[Atrocities]

Mid life galaxies have tones of planets, and few BH.

Ancient has tons of Black Holes and few systems with planets. (I like this setting the best as it allows for more game challenge)
