Sachmo, I have to admit that I did not contact Paradox tech support about the problem with EU II. It does look like a good game, so you have convinced me to give it another try. Thanks.

Bu sure to reload the latest patch from http://www.paradoxplaza.com/downloads.asp
That also fixes some problems + increases the playability of the game.

Personally I rank EUII as the best single-player game ever.

To be honest, I don't think I liked SE4 "right out of the box" ... it's been a couple years, but IIRC my first reaction was "OMFG this makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER and the interface is so awkward!!!" Well, that's my initial reaction to MOO3 (and I haven't even played it since a marathon 5-hour session when I got it on Wednesday) - so I can only hope I warm up to MOO3 like I did to SE4...
