Troops were small troop w/3GC3's no armor or sheilds, as I said I just glassed the place after trying to take it 3X it has happened in more than 1 system and I do not have a save game before it now. yes latest patch also.

May be you droping too many troops ? Summary damage rating may be too high and cause RCE.

Should not be. next time you have this problem, keep save game file, may be we'll figure out what' the problem.
