Geeze, must be one of those days for people to wake up on the wrong side of the bed.

Bird of Prey - Class = B'Rel
(Klingon ST VI era.)

I also have the K'Vort, although it looks a lot like the B'Rel.

I don't know what's the point of having wings in space.....
Unless for some reason the guns on the tips have a minimum separation distance.....
It looks kind of cool though.
But I would prefer a Naval looking ship.....like an Imperial StarDestroyer....

Could also be that IF you take out 1 gun there will be another on the other side where if they are together and get hit may loose them both

Actually, star ships WILL have wings in space

Not for flying of course but for cooling. Imagine some future mighty space destroyer. It must have a very powerfull power plant or engine. However good is thermoisolation, some heat will leak to the hull. Now, the only way to dissipate it in vacuum is radiation. For that purpose ship should have a big surfice area, something like solar batteries on MIR or International Space Station. Or something different but very wing-like. IIRC, when people designed spaceship model for 2001:SpaceOdessey, they want to put big wing-like radiator pannel but it was rejected because audience who supposedly knows not very much about space travel might think it is "not realistic" and cheesy.

The B'Rel and the The K'Vort

The idea behind the wings in space, or at least on Klingon ships, is two fold. They give the vessel a theatening look, and both the B'Rel and the K'Vort are atmospheric vessels as well as space ships.
