Thanks! Couple of more easy ones. Will the atmosphere converter also convert the climate? As in, can I wait until the atmosphere converter and get the same end effect as if I used the climate converter first. And if that's the case, is there a benefit to converting the climate first?

Thanks again

Climate and atmosphere are seperate. Climate is like the weather patterns and such that sweep over the planet, making it more or less hostile to your species. Atmosphere determines if the air is even breathable by your people.

If your climate is poor, your reproduction rate on the planet is poor (as well as some other factors I think). If the atmosphere doesn't match, you can only build domed colonies. Hostile Climates of the wrong atmosphere are usually the worst planets you can find (especially if they are tiny), but it's a rare planet indeed that has no redeeming qualities.

Once the atmosphere has been converted, you can scrap that facility and build a climate control facility, which will further boost the value of the planet, though it will take even longer to do than the atmospheric converter depending on how bad the climate is.

All planets have a redeeming quality: 1+ facility slot. Use it for a Storage, Intel or Research facility.

Ditto! That's what I use those tiny planets for also. Mostly storage, unless the planet has a tremendous amount of minerals, organics or rads. Then I might put a mining facility there instead.

I usually build monoliths on them if they have decent resource values, actually.

Tiny planets if close to a "flight path" make a good place to put a resupply depot.
If you take the time to build a Ship Yard there you can put lots of Ship Yard Bases over it, then scrap the ship yard. Careful, if you do this, don't mothball all of the shipyards or you will have to send a ship yard ship to unmothball them.

Caution II, don't retrofit ships where the engines will change if you do not have a resupply depot there or solar sails in the new design.
