Buying SEIV Gold over the net

Hi everybody!

Well, as I mentioned in my previous post, I've ordered the game a few days ago, and can't wait

It's taking a while to arrive, because I live in Germany, and (fool! fool!

) didn't choose UPS.

Obviously, it's hard to wait. Now why is there no possibility of downloading the game, once you've ordered it? You could have the additional option of *not* sending me the CD, whereupon I won't have to pay for S&H. And I'm sure there would be more profit involved, too.

I read in some FAQ that the game is about 36MB,and that would be a bit much to download - well, unless your servers might have a problem, *I* certaily won't: DSL + Flatrate -> bring it on!

Besides, who knows if customs won't want some cash off me, too...

Any thoughts?

I think the game can't be downloaded because it would be an open door to piracy...

I think the whole game size is bigger, because of music tracks.

You can make your nerves on the demo Version, limited to 100 turns. A good way to discover the game.

Eh, the very existence of the game is an open door to piracy - I wouldn't worry *too* much about it.

OTOH, I was delighted to see my ordered Version on my desk when I arrived at work this morning, so my urgent wait has disappeared into thin air

Welcome, and prepare to have no life for the next 6 months. Prepare to ask questions such as: "Why don't my colonys have population on them?" (Load population on them.) Or "Why won't my ship move?" (Put engines on the design.)

Don't worry though, we all made those mistakes.

Just ask if you gots a problem and we'll be sure to answer you.

Only 6 months?? I've had the game for nearly a year, and until recently, I was either playing the game as much as I could, or downloading the latest patch/race/mod for the game. Now that I'm getting a new computer that will allow me to play some of the other games that I've missed due to hardware requirements, I might take a break from SE4, but it won't be a long one. Got to still try Proportions mod.

I haven't had life for three years.

I still have the original 0.51 demo Version zip files. (The download was in 1.44 MB pieces.) The longest time that I have not played Space Empires is 2 weeks.
