Ship mutiny bug?

I got the following message:

Intelligence Minister: The crew of the vessel Alpha Mk3 0022 have mutinied and joined the (empire name removed for PBW player privacy), sire.

However, when I go to find the ship, it is still under my control... Is this a bug or does Crew Insurrection take a turn to take effect?

Not sure. Sounds like a bug or a rare situation that has some peculiar explanation I don't know about. I do know that crew insurrection generally works as expected, and have seen it do so many times, without ever seeing this symptom. Maybe someone did intel sabotage at the same time, or... I dunno.

What other Messages are in your log? Was there combat at the location of this ship? Are you playing as a Psychic race or do you have boarding ships present at that location? It could have rebelled and been recaptured.

If you do lots of retrofits, you can end up with two ships with the same name. Is is possible you lost another ship with that very same name?

Oops, never mind, I went back and checked for all those things you guys suggested and found that the ship did mutiny after all - it's just that when I clicked "goto" to see where the ship was, it went to a different ship, the Alpha Mk3 0021!

Which was in a nebula... So either the two ships were together and the game tried to go to the Last known location of the lost ship, or since the ship was no longer under my control, the game picked a ship that was adjacent in the ship list...

(great, so now those pesky (empire name removed) have an INVISIBLE colony ship flying around in my territory )

If the ship that you got, was placed into an enemy fleet... well, they will die like the traitors they are...
Check your combat reports and will see if this was the reason.
