I used the crew insurrection once on a random ship and got a transport with 10 troops. I invaded a nearby planet and it had a shipyard so I was in buisness

. The AI doesn't usually load that many troops and if you have weapon platforms or sat's on your worlds you would be safe even if the AI tried to invade. They don't usually put non combat ships in their fleets. Maybe if we get a way to target WP's and not planets added into the strategies at some point The AI could possibly do this
